Rodeo Blades

Rodeo paddles need to have a lot of grab but not be too long so they can release easily. A few of my blade shapes apply well.

The Riot Styk is my most popular Rodeo choice.

The main blade I would recommend for all around rodeo is the The Riot Styk.  It is an articulated shape with a nice dipping edge on the bottom outside corner for subtle rudders and strokes and yet it is plenty of blade in a small package.   Often bought in lengths of 196cm or less- this is my most popular blade and applies well to Cruising and Creeking applications as well.

Rodeo legend Dustin Urban often uses his Flo in competitions.  It has more immediate grab and more grab at low angles of attack.  It’s more blade in a shorter format- but it’s not articulated- so you can’t get dainty little strokes out of it.

The Big Fun is also a substantial blade size to consider for Rodeo. Around the same size as The Riot Styk but not articulated~ it is totally symetrical.
