The Big Fun Blade

For smooth big strokes in troubled waters...

The Big Fun Blade is on the left here~ next to a Cruising Blade, then an SO Terrik, then a Flo, then my Canoe blade.

Kelly Ravner up to her eyeballs in fun.

Paddling in bigger or more turbulent waters where fast powerful strokes are needed or if bracing and rolling are a concern?
This is my biggest symmetrical trik style blade shape.   It is good for cruising, creeking, and playing and places where you want some oomph! out of the paddle.    It's a lot of torque in a smaller package because all the width is towards the tip of the blade where it will have the most leverage.  And the shape is trimmed in near the throat so you can keep the shaft close to the boat for more power in the latter part of the stroke.   The Riot styk is a little bigger and my racing blades are bigger- but they have curved power faces.  This shape has a really sweet swing weight.

Blade size~  88.5 sq. in.    7.25” by 17”

Most popular lengths~  190-200 cm.
